Standard Columbia 1884

A lot of differences between this later Standard Columbia and the early 1881-model. Direct spokes and ball bearings, for instance.
This bicycle with the serial number 8372 was built in 1884 and sold in 2012 at the Copake auction.
Pictures show a bicycle with character, although a bit over-restored. Details like grips and brake spoon are clearly copied.
I always like these models with open head: they really stand out from all the other bikes with their Stanley heads. To ride them is another story: they are heavy and not very stiff.
